"Wilksch Airmotive Opens WAM-160 Order Book"
"Wilksch Airmotive Ltd has taken the first order for its four-cylinder 160hp diesel engine. Like the WAM-120, the 160 will be a turbo-charged inline inverted engine with integral oil and cooling systems.
Managing director Mark Wilksch said: "We have had a steady stream of enquiries for a bigger engine but did not want to commit to the WAM-160 programme until the core technology had been sufficiently matured. We originally saw the WAM-160 as our entry product for the US market but we have been surprised by the number of enquiries from European countries."
The WAM-160 price has been set at £15,000 (less a 10% discount for the first 10 customers). Customers can reserve a position in the production schedule by paying a £1,000 deposit.
Wilksch Airmotive is planning to have the first WAM-160 engines running in Spring 2003, with first customer deliveries scheduled for Autumn 2003."
