Media Release from JB Aerodesign

May 2000.

No embargo.

"JB Aerodesign in collaboration with John Scott announce their installation of the Wilksch WAM 120 diesel engine on the D11 and Dr1050 series Jodels. The installation, is generic, and can be retrofitted to all examples of the 2-seat D11, D112, D117, D119 & D120, and 4-seat Dr1050 and 1051 aircraft. Performance, particularly rate of climb at maximum weight, is expected to be improved significantly with an additional benefit arising from the use of low cost turbine fuel. Payload will remain largely unchanged as engine weight is similar to existing continental units.

With over 150 aircraft on the British register alone, this will be a popular retrofit. As a Wilksch development partner, the installation team is receiving support from Wilksch Airmotive and will be displaying their prototype on the Wilksch Partner Centre at this year's PFA Rally.
